Dixie Cup XXX Speakers

The Foam Rangers are proud to announce the speakers for Dixie Cup XXX. Chris White, John Palmer, and Geoff Larson.

Chris White

Chris White started the lab in 1995 after researching and developing a library of brewers yeast strains from around the world. Chris White received an undergraduate degree in biochemistry from the University of California, Davis, and a Ph.D in biochemistry from U.C. San Diego. Besides his duties at White Labs, Chris is a member of the Siebel Institute faculty.

 

 

John Palmer

John Palmer is the best-selling author of How to Brew, and the co-author of Brewing Classic Styles, and Water - A Comprehensive Guide for Brewers. He is also the co-host the popular brewing podcast, Brew Strong. John is a metallurgical engineer by trade, and has made a particular study of the processes of brewing from an engineer's point of view, including malting, mashing, water chemistry, lautering, clarity, color, and foam retention.

John is the president of Palmer Brewing Solutions, Inc. - a consulting firm, and is a regular speaker at brewing conventions and competitions all over the world. He lives in Glendale, California, near Los Angeles.

Geoff Larson

Geoff Larson founded Alaskan Brewing Company with his wife and partner, Marcy. Geoff and Marcy were 28 years old at the time they started the brewery. The company's flagship is Alaskan Amber. Alaskan also brews Alaskan Freeride APA, Alaskan IPA, Alaskan White Ale, Alaskan Stout and Alaskan Smoked Porter in addition to a number of seasonal beers and limited-edition beers. Alaskan Brewing has won more medals at the Great American Beer Festival than any other small brewery in the country.

Geoff is now considered a leader in craft brewing industry circles. He co-authored a Beer Style series book on the Smoked Beer category. His role at the brewery currently is focused on developing the future vision, strengthening industry relationships and acting as a sounding board on technology and plant issues.
